This page is for exploration of how incubees might work, in terms of things like fair levels of financial support, decision-making representation, etc. The only group that has expressed interest so far (as of 3/14) is the non-profit The Seasteading Institute. James Hogan is the contact there, and here's an excerpt from a recent e-mail he sent to David. Comments welcome:

I'd plan on 3 full-time headcount (which is actually padded, since we only have 3 official "in-office days" each week). In addition, there will be a number of voulnteers who might stop by for a few hours or a full workday here or there. It's hard to predict how many; maybe an average of 2 there at any given time? So 5 full-time headcount, total.
I'm not sure what to propose for a fair contribution level. In terms of space and resources, we'd probably use about as much (though somewhat less than) 5 full-time workers. But in terms of dojo governance, I don't think we feel a desire to have 5 director seats. So this suggests to me something between the $100 and $500 levels.
Thinking of it in terms of square footage, the 125 ft^2/person you're implying seems reasonable for a facility with lots of common space like the Dojo would have, so that puts us at about 625 ft^2. Glancing at Craigslist for peninsula office space suggests prices around $1.50-$2.00/ft^2/mo, which comes out to around $975-$1250/mo. So something in the same ballpark as that makes sense. (Which is a lot cheaper than $500/person/mo -- are you sure the director levels will really need to be that high if there is sufficient interest in the dojo?)
Understand I'm just thinking out loud here -- this should all be construed as nothing more than a transparent, collaborative thought process :-)
Regarding timeframe, I noticed the wiki mentioned incubees being temporary, for < 1 year. I can agree with that as a plausible goal, as I'd love it if we are successful enough to grow and require a larger, dedicated space. Do you envision that being a hard requirement? If we'd be required to relocate after a year then that's a pretty significant risk we'd need to consider before signing up.

David -
Divvyshot might be interested in moving to the Dojo when it opens. We'll probably be about 2-4 people at that point. Keep me posted.
