Scarcely sorted personal data dump
Member since: July 2009

Old Project: applet that accepts user bio data via form and outputs XML. User input includes importance of items and to which objectives (personal, career1, career2) they are relevant. Applet uses XML data stored in local file to output a resume in {PDF, DOC, XHTML, text} using SAX parser, XSL and XSL-FO. Importance attributes are used to generate resumes of different length. Objectives attributes are used to create resumes with different themes. Incomplete result is not, ahem, as usable but not as featureful or fast as originally intended.
My most useful open source creation to date: very geeky microscopy application.
Other projects I'm potentially interested in:
- Immersive reading (presented at SHDH 43)
- Thin, low-power wall calendar replacement based on Pandaboard and eInk or PixelQi
- Hosting my personal web page in OpenStack or EC2
- Pedicab service for Mountain View, with WiFi of course, not for profit, but for fun
- Migrating my home development machine to a 2U server in a refrigerated half-rack (no A/C => repeated HDD failure)
- Random bicycle hacking
- A cloud-based method of saving PDF annotations, like a cloud-synced version of xournal that's (for example) integrated with Ubuntu One
Favorite Scotch: No way. Belgian ales and IPAs.
Also a member of: Silicon Valley Linux Technology, MeeGo and Qt meetup.com groups, plus PenLUG and SVLUG
